It is always a joy to get to photograph families, children, pets, animals, professionals, landscapes and interiors.  If you are a new client of mine or a returning client thank you for your business and the intro letter below will answer some frequently asked questions.

Dear New Client,

Thank you for choosing me to photograph you and / or your family.  I am looking forward to our upcoming photo shoot.  I would like to take this time to familiarize yourself with me and give you some helpful tips to make our photo shoot go smoothly.

What to wear?

Please dress in comfortable clothing.  Matching clothes are not necessary.  Here are some suggestions in choosing your outfits.

1.       Skirts or dresses below the knee (this allows me more positions to photograph from).

2.       Try to avoid anything with large graphics as they can be distracting.  Stripes, plaid or patterns are fine.

3.       Bring an outfit change for full sessions.  This will give you a wider range of photographs. Mini sessions only include one outfit.

4.       Adults unless you love your arms I recommend long sleeves or ¾ length.

5.       Long pants for men.

6.       Dress for outdoors.  I do most of my photography outside so please dress for the current conditions. I want you to be comfortable.

Say Cheese???

Or don’t say “cheese”.  If you have young children that I will be photographing you do not need to tell them to look at the camera and say cheese. I promise I will get them looking at the camera.  I like to make the photo shoot as fun as possible.  I will work with your children throughout the session and I will get many different styles of photographs.  As the session goes on and as they become more comfortable with the camera I will do more organized photos.  The photo shoot should be fun and I’ll make sure you go home with wonderful memories.

The Golden Hour

The golden hour is the time just before and after sunrise and sunset.  It is the best lighting to photograph in.  I try to book my sessions during this time, but sometimes due to weather conditions and hectic schedules that time isn’t the most convenient. I can work with your schedule and pick a time that works best with your family.

Maternity Shoot

The best time for maternity shoots is 30-32 weeks.  But I will work right up to your due date.

Newborn Shoots

I prefer to do newborn shoots within the first 10 days of birth.  They are much more cooperative subjects at that time.  I do all newborn shots indoors.

6 month / 9 month / 1 year

I enjoy watching your children grow and capturing them through my camera lens.  I can do mini sessions for each of these millstones to help record your growing little one.

I am really looking forward to working with you and your family.  If you have any additional questions please let me know. I know each family has different requests and I will do my best to accommodate all of your specific requests.  I really enjoy each session and I hope you will too.

I will provide you with a digital copy of all the photographs and a selection of 4x6 proofs that I hand select.  This will allow you to print your pictures on your own terms with whichever printer you choose.

Typically you will see photographs 5-10 days after our photo shoot.  During this time I will edit and retouch your photos. I will do my best to get your photos back to you in a quickly and timely manner.

PHOTO ADVERTISING DISCLOSURE

I request permission to use your photographs as advertisement for my business.  I will not resell any photographs or release any of your images to other companies.  I will place watermarks on all photographs when being used on my website or social media sites that are being used for my advertising purposes only.  If you have any problems with me using your photographs for advertising my business please let me know beforehand.
